Cacouna lies at the northern end of Wolastokuk, the ancestral territory of the Wolastoqiyik people. It includes the Pointe de Cacouna, site of the annual Pow Wow, the Matuweskewin boutique and the Cacouna "reserve", where the community's administrative offices are located. This area is also home to the new Putep 't-awt marine mammal observation site, as well as the Kiskotuk Coastal Park, offering activities highlighting Wolastoqey culture and its territory.
